Man City Cruise to 2-0 Victory at Nottingham Forest
Haaland Strikes Again as Champions Tighten Grip on Arsenal
Manchester City extended their winning streak to four matches with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday. The Citizens were in control throughout the match, with Erling Haaland and Riyad Mahrez getting on the scoresheet.
Haaland Opens the Scoring
Haaland opened the scoring in the 71st minute with a clinical finish from close range. The Norwegian striker took advantage of a defensive lapse by Forest and slotted the ball past Wayne Hennessey to give City the lead.
Mahrez Seals the Win
Mahrez wrapped up the points for City in the 87th minute with a breakaway goal. The Algerian winger was played through on goal by substitute Julian Alvarez and calmly finished into the bottom corner.
With the victory, City moved to within two points of league leaders Arsenal. The Gunners, however, have a game in hand. Forest, meanwhile, remain in 14th place, just three points above the relegation zone.
